Chains was first published in 1962 by The Cookies , a singing group of girls who later (in parts) as accompanying singers from Ray Charles should act.
The song in Great Britain a bigger hit than in his country of origin United States, especially in the Liverpool music scene. The Beatles take the song the first time one month before the shoot for Please, Please Me on the BBC.
In the version of the Beatles must first George Harrison to take over the lead vocals (although this is nominally important only: George, Paul and John sing most of the time while the third, George sings only twice, the bridge itself). Even John Lennon's harmonica, which was later to be so prominent in the early Beatle sound appears here on the first time.
Chains was recorded in just four takes, where the album version actually the first take is recorded at all.
ranked in the last.fm charts the Beatles Chains currently ranked 174, so he is as popular songs like Revolution 9 and Rain . Why this is so, I can answer someone who is smarter than me.
